The Challenge
The client was a newly established tree removal business, which began operating a few months prior to working with us. The only form of digital presence they possessed, was a Gumtree Ad, which reaped limited success in a highly competitive market. As they weren’t tech savvy, they had No Website, Google Business Profile or SEO strategy in place. They approached us for help to build a website and develop a strategy for rapid generation of leads. Budget was tight as they were a new business, so smart use of funds was critical. Thus, Discerning Digital were tasked with:
- Website Build– the brief was to build a professional looking website to attract customers and provide information about services offered.
- Implementing a Local SEO strategy – As the business was new, lead generation was a significant priority. Thus, we were tasked with developing a local SEO strategy to facilitate rapid lead generation, on a budget.
The Strategy
The team at Discerning Digital considered the best website designs and local SEO strategies, to ensure that the business’ digital presence was optimised to rapidly expand their client base. We did this by:
- Understanding the Business – We interviewed the business owners to ensure we understood the business, the services provided, points of difference with competitors, business goals and marketing budget.
- Competitor Research - We analysed competitor sites to see what was working well and what wasn’t working, from a marketing standpoint. We also identified gaps in the current marketplace that could be exploited.
- SEO Keyword Research – We used specialised software tools to research the most searched keywords in Google relating to the client’s business, and identified keywords that were the easiest or least competitive to rank for. From this, we created a list of specific keywords we would target for rapid results, we called a ‘Target Keyword List’.
- Analysis & Strategy - We assessed the strengths and weaknesses of each digital marketing pathway available (marketing website, google business profile, and SEO Content strategy) and selected the pathways best suited to the stated goal of Rapid Lead Generation.
- Website Design & SEO Optimisation – Our team of web designers created an attractive and professional looking website. We ensured that the page titles, text and photos on the website contained phrases on our ‘Target Keyword List’, to give the website the best chance of ranking as high as possible on Google.
- Google Business Profile & SEO Optimisation– In setting up the Google Business profile, we were extremely strategic in selecting the service types offered by the business and suburbs and locations serviced. We ensured our selections were consistent with our ‘Target Keyword List’ and the keyword research performed, to allow the Google Business Profile to rank as high as possible on Google.
- Data & Reporting - We sent Google Analytics reports to the client containing data on how their website and Google Business Profile were ranking on Google. We provided advice on changes to further improve the site’s performance.
