The Challenge
The client was an established business, operating successfully for more than 10 years without any form of digital footprint, other than a basic Google Business Profile and a no frills Facebook and Instagram profile. Like many businesses, following COVID, they realized the importance of a digital presence in the form of a website, to communicate important information and engage with their customers. Thus, Discerning Digital were tasked with:
- Website Build– the brief was to build a website to engage with customers and communicate key information such a unplanned closures, new products and services.
- Implementing a Local SEO strategy –As the business already had a stellar reputation in their local area as attested to by countless customer testimonials, the brief was to build awareness of the business on a city-wide scale.
The Strategy
Our mission was to produce a beautifully designed website that not only looked attractive but was also effective in attracting the client’s ideal customer. Our team of web design experts at Discerning Digital did this by:
- Research – We used specialized SEO software tools to conduct research on the most searched for keywords in google relevant to the client’s business, and the difficulty or competitiveness of ranking for each keyword
- Analysis & Strategy - By cross checking the list of most searched for keywords with the list of keywords that were easiest to rank for, we were able to develop a content pipeline of articles and content to be created that would provide the most bang for marketing buck.
- Development of Engaging Content - Out team of writers then developed engaging well written content for each SEO keyword,. They did this by conducting research on the topic, conducting competitor research on what was and was not working well in the market, and conducting interviews with the client about aspects of the product that should be highlighted.
- SEO Optimisation - Each piece of content was then meticulously edited and laid out on the client’s website in a way that was optimised to be ranked and indexed by Google for the target keyword.
- Data & Reporting - We sent Google Analytics reports to the client, containing data on how their website was ranking on google, which articles or contents were ranking well and made recommendations on tweaks that could be made to further improve the site’s performance.
The Results
Within 6-12 months of creating the website the client saw fantastic results including:
Explosion in Take away orders and sales to a level where they struggle to keep up on peak days, and had to invest in an online ordering system to increase capacity to take orders.
